Minneapolis is one of the 50 largest cities in the U.S. Originally a hub for timber and flour mills, Minneapolis became a major destination for European immigrants—particularly for Germans and Scandinavians—in both the 19th and 20th centuries. Eventually, Minneapolis became strong in commerce, finance, and has a thriving performance arts scene. Much of this rich history has been preserved and is evident as visitors and residents visit this great midwest city’s beautifully preserved and restored pubs, French restaurants and al fresco dining.
